  5. 1. DESCRIPTION
  6. The Cops & Robbers Time Bank program was written exclusively for
  7. Spitfire v3.5 bbs systems. It can be accessed as a door or an 
  8. extended menu command. This program not only allows users to save
  9. time for later use, but also allows users to gamble their time in
  10. a lottery and try to steal time from others. Most aspects of the
  11. program are fully sysop configurable.

  13. 2. SETUP
  14. Simply put the program in its own subdirectory. Create or modify
  15. the required batch file used to start the program (ie. SFMAIN.BAT,
  16. SFMESS.BAT, SFFILE.BAT) or setup as a door program. Consult your
  17. Spitfire manual on menu extensions or door setup as needed. Notice
  18. to Multinode BBS's: A drop file 'CRBANKIN.USE' is created and will
  19. enable only one user to access the program at a time. Consider this
  20. when setting up. 
  21. At the dos prompt, execute CRBANK.EXE using the CONFIG parameter. Be
  22. sure to alter the security level limits and the drop file path and
  23. filename.

  25. 3. CONFIGURATION
  26.  A. Securities
  27. Settings for 10 different security levels can be set. Note that any
  28. unspecified security level a user has will use the lower specified
  29. level. Example: Three security levels are specified (10, 20, and 30).
  30. The remaining slots are left blank. A user entering the program
  31. having a security level of 24 would be treated as a security 20 user.
  32.  B. Paths, Accounts & Lottery
  33. The item of primary concern here is the path & drop file name. The
  34. lottery defaults are somewhat generous, but it helps users to 'buy'
  35. account defenses (Cyberneic Time Cop Units and Booby Traps).
  36.  C. Time Cops & Booby Traps
  37. You can change the cost of account defenses here. 'Sandman' will
  38. randomly appear according to the parameters and give the user lotto
  39. hints, helpful items to commit crimes, and extra time, or will take
  40. time. 
  41.  D. Robbery Settings
  42. These parameters will determine how effective defenses are against a
  43. user trying to rob. 
  44.  
  45. 4. MAINTENANCE
  46. Each time the program runs, it checks to verify the daily maintenance
  47. has been performed and executes it if needed and only takes a few
  48. seconds. But, maintenance can be made to run at regular intervals.
  49. Simply use the command 'CRBANK MAINT' in your SF event call.

  51. 5. DISTRIBUTION
  52. This program may be freely distributed provided all the program files
  53. are distributed together and remain in the original form.

  65. 8. WHAT IS MISSING
  66.  A. It does not recognize on time events.
  67.  B. Does not accomodate 'byte' banking.
  68.  C. Needs more documentation.

  70. As it stands, it works on my bbs and my users are happy. If there is
  71. enough interest, I will add these and other features in.
